| Sukuma mother and child figure, Tanzania 53" tall x 10" wide Wood, metal, pigment $1200 The arms of the mother are hinged and are movable and the faces of the mother and the baby are covered in metal. This figure comes from my personal collection, I acquired it from Tookalook Native Arts a few years back. I believe this figure was carved by a Sukuma carver and most likely dates from the 70's80's. |
