The Kete people lived along the southern border of the Kuba kingdom. They carve figures and helmet masks similar to the Bwoom
mask with large, conical eyes and sometimes horns.

This mask shows no real signs of age or use and it is my opinion that it was produced specifically for the collecting market. It was
most likely carved by a Kete carver in the late 20th century.
