A finely carved Luba pipe with a kneeling female figure as the pipe stem. This figure is one that I bought early on in my collecting journey about
nine years ago and have now decided to part with. It is very similar in appearance and style to the
Luba pipe in the collection of the Tervuren
Museum.

In their traditional context, objects like this would have been considered as prestige objects.

I believe that this object was carved by a Luba carver, but despite it's appearance I believe it was made specifically for the collecting market.
