Lega human figure - Iginga (?), Democratic Republic of the Congo

In their traditional context, Iginga figures, individually owned by the highest ranking society members, are the most coveted of all
initiation objects. I especially like the representation of the arms and legs on this figure.

I believe this figure was carved by a Lega carver and most likely dates from the 80's. Despite its appearance, I believe this object
was made specifically for the collecting market.
