Kuba pipe, Democratic Republic of the Congo 24" long x 5" tall wood, pigment This object is being sold on consignment from a private collection
$200 - INQUIRE
The Kuba are known for their wide range of artistic productions including a variety of carved figures and a broad assortment of utilitarian objects including cups, neck rests, stools and pipes. The Kuba adorn the surfaces of just about every object with their unique geometric designs and often times depictions of various animals.
Despite its appearance, I believe this object was made specifically for the collecting market.
